1920's Silk Beaded Flapper Dress *40" BWH

An authentic flapper dress in sheer black silk crepe is in exquisite condition, adorned with french cut steel beads, the beads overwhelmingly black in color, with touches of clear, silver and bronze. Featuring the most adorable and refined ruched slight-cap sleeves; drop-waist with a rear overlap slit falling from the waist. The beading is mostly intact with perhaps a few missing but not a detraction from the beauty of this textile which has survived over 80 years in remarkable condition. Measuring 51" in length from the top of the shoulder to the front and rear; 40" Bust, Waist and Hips 40+". The edges of the fabric are surged and the only hem is on the "panel" of beading at the front; it was most likely designed to hang longer at the panel, but someone has turned it up. It would be let down 3" at this "panel" if desired.

A rare and exciting work of wearable textile art; it appears to have not been worn. If it was it was with extreme caution.
