With spectacular beauty and craft, this pair of size 7 1/2 C brocade evening shoes looks to be straight out of the 19th century Aesthetic Era. Numbered and sized in pencil, stamped SAKS FIFTH AVENUE Fenton Last, simply an incredible foot feat. An exceptional black satin ground is woven with gold metallic threads in a mesmerizing pattern with black faceted crystals to accent the tops. An exemplar of 1950's fashion magnificence, one will be torn between "to wear" or "not to wear"-- for they are sublime enough to stay behind glass in glorious display.
In excellent vintage condition. Due to the gold metallic weave on the polished black satin, the shoes are inconspicuously missing 2 of the black faceted crystals. A wonderful size 7C (for you envious size 8s), they measure 11" long from the outside, 10"+ long on the inside, for my tape measure hit the point - I imagine closer to 10 1/2" and 3 1/4" at the widest part of the outside of the sole; heel is 3 1/8" high.
