I acquired this astounding piece 10 years ago in Arizona. One-of-a-kind and I believe quite old, the belt commands attention from all. And for good reason. It is an INCREDIBLY versatile fashion piece of exceptional quality. A work of art.
Each of the 10 pieces has approximately 30 unique bezels housing spectacular turquoise cabochons. According to my jeweler here in Ontario, in addition to it's unique and stunning appearance, the wholesale cost of only labor to craft this belt would be upwards of $12,000. Unsigned and simply marked "Sterling" on the buckle (we guarantee the other 9 pieces to be the same). Each of the 9 - 2 1/2" x 2" pieces are fashioned with copper to slide onto a 39" chocolate brown belt (suede on one side, smooth leather on the other). The additional buckle is tied into place at the end and closes with a prong. Currently the belt has two holes, but more may be added so the piece may be worn on the waist as well as the hips. A majestic treasure. Pictured here, we have cinched it several inches to fit the mannequin's waist.
Weight without the leather approximately 450 grams.
Excellent condition with a fabulous patina.
