Paris Montmartre impressionist oil painting signed listed artist R.Vandenbulcke
This is a nicely painted work of Montmartre, the bohemian quarter of Paris, circa 1960's I think, oil on canvas, measuring 8 3/4" by 10 1/4", and 14 1/2" by 16 1/4" framed. The Belgian 20th century artist, Roger Vandenbulcke, born 1921, has signed it in the lower right corner and titled it on the reverse "Montmartre/Place du Tertre". He used a pallette knife with skill, creating a truly impressionist work. Both painting and goldish frame are in excellent condition, and this is ready to hang on the wall. It should bring back pleasant memories of your visit to Paris. The artist painted landscapes of Paris and France, and occasionally still life, but not a lot is otherwise known of his painting career.
