The beautiful baluster shape vases are finely painted with a prunus branch and butterflies in flight on a white ground, while the other side is of a cobalt blue ground with stylized leaves in a light blue-green color, small red chrysanthemums and a finely scrolled gold accent throughout. The border around the bottom is an alternating bold pattern. The inside lip is painted with repeating pattern with half-circles and pale yellow stylized leaf motif with a pale blue-green cloud like shape. They date from the Meiji period, 19th Century. Both of them are in good condition with no chips, the gold enamel rims have some loss.Size: 12 1/4" high
