Japanese Meiji Period Bronze Model of a Red-Crested Crane Koro
Exquisite antique Japanese bronze koro is of a finely cast crane in a resting position is from the Meiji Period (1868-1912), with finely detailed tail feathers, gilt crown, the top portion of his back lifts off and inside is a silver inset for incense 1" x 1 ¼" x 1 ¼", overall it is 7" in length. It is signed with the artist signature on the base. The red-crested cranes are the symbol of good luck, dignity and a long life. The condition is excellent with signs of age on the base.
