This large Japanese keyaki wood tansu is of a rectangular form on wheels, with sliding front door panels that are with decorative slats as well as on the sides of the cabinet, the iron lock plate has its original key, in the interior are two shelves with two small drawers on the right-side with an iron lock plate and its original key. There is a decorative iron plate with a pawlownia leaf motif and an iron ring on each side of the bottom lower rail. Date: Edo Period, 18th Century - Height: 38 ½” x 43” wide x 21 ½” deep
