1938 Snow White Dwarf Happy Hard Rubber Figurine

Tom Casey, Goodyear Tire and Rubber's Vice-President, had the idea to produce rubber figurines based on characters from Walt Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarf's . The company produced 40,000 of the figurines in anticipation of the film's success. The figurines' sales were slow to begin, but when the feature went into general release in 1938, Snow White mania swept the nation. Unfortunately, most of these toys have fallen victim to " play wear and tear" and oxidation, making it difficult to find examples in anything better than "very good" condition.

Offered is one of those 1938 toys. This is "Happy" and he is about 6 inches tall. He has many bumps and bruises, but is at least in"very good" condition. On the back of Happy is inscribed, Copyright, Walt Disney,Sieberling Latex, Made in Akron , O. U.S.A." Happy has done well over the years , especially when you consider that he is 75 years old.
