Fables in Rhyme for Little Folks From the French of La Fontaine

What a wonderful children's book! Published by Volland, Chicago, 1918, 15th Edition. It has pictorial boards and the colors are bright and vibrant. John Rae was the illustrator. The book is a color-illustrated collection of fables from Volland's "Nature Children Books". Included are such fables as "The Frog who Wished He Could be as Big as an OX", "The Grasshopper and the Ant", and "The Raven and the Fox", just to name a few. The Pictorial cover is a rubbed and soiled, as are some of the pages, and the hinges are weak. The colored illustrations, however, are superb and the book is complete. This wonderful old book is quite collectible, and long out of print. The book contains 18 fables in a 6 by 9 inch format. About 85 pages.
