Large Johnson Bros. Serving Platter

Offered is a beautiful Johnson Bros. Serving Platter which dates to the late 1800s or early 1900s. The platter has a gilded, scalloped and embossed edge and a delicate pink and white roses with blue bachelor buttons as the pattern . It is oval and 14 inches long. The platter is marked with Johnson Bros., England, green stamp with gold crossed swords towards the middle, under the glaze. This beautiful old platter is in excellent condition. There are two VERY slight scratches in one small area, but other than that, it's nearly perfect. Even ALL of the gilded edge is still in place.

For those who are curious......

The Johnson Bros. company was located in Staffordshire England and established in 1883. As most fo the historic china manufacturers, they produced earthenware and ironstone in their start up years. This eventually evolved into fine china.
