This set was made by the American Cutlery Company during the mid to late 1800's. They are the typical design (large butter type knife and three prong fork) for the Civil War era. Both have wood handles that appears to be walnut, which is held in place by pewter. The knife is 9 and 1/2 inches long and is marked "American Cutlery Company," "1865". There's no way to tell if this is a patent date, a manufacture date, or simply a model number. The fork is 7 and 1/2 inches long, and has a crack in the wood supporting metal. It is stable and seems to have occurred during the manufacturing process.
Sorry...we don't ship to Italy or Portugal...too many problems.
