Alabaster Parrot Book Ends ...Art Deco
This is a pair of hand carved alabaster bookends that have been hand carved to resemble parrots. Each is nearly six inches tall and about 1 3/4 inches wide. This set is more than likely vintage 1940's and they do have some "use" marks. They do not look new, but the colors are sharp and distinct. The colors are not added, but are an inherent part of the stone which the carver used to properly sculpt each parrot.
