This beautiful felt limited edition doll is by noted artist Maggie Iacono. Maggie Iacono is referenced in The Guide To Dolls by Jan Foulke and in the 16th Blue Book by Jan Foulke. The dolls made by Maggie are known throughout the doll world for their serene beauty and superior quality. This 16 ½” example is called “Jillian”. She is a limited edition of 200 and this example is number 61. She was the doll voted to receive the Dolls Magazine Award of Excellence in 1992. She has softly painted large eyes and a shy smile. Her facial features are perfect with no flaws. Her red mohair wig still has its original hair net. She wears a full brim straw hat and a school girl outfit consisting of a pleated jumper, a white blouse and tie, black stockings and black tie shoes. Under her dress, she has a white slip and white panties. A certificate of authenticity is attached to the back of her dress (pictured) and another certificate of authenticity is in her original box. She also still has her original book of Emily Dickinson Poetry and there is a photograph of Maggie Iacono. The doll has never been displayed or played with. There are no stains, odors or damage. She comes in her original box.
