Printed in 1918, "U. P. Trail" by Zane Grey is tells the story of the Union Pacific Railroad as it was being built. The foreword by Robert Louis Stevenson starts with "When I think how the railroad has been pushed through this unwatered wilderness and haunt of savage tribes; cities full of gold and lust and death....". Zane Grey always draws you into the moment with his descriptions of the West; the gambling, drinking, murdering and hardships.
This book is not only very collectible it is a fun read. It is in excellent condition with some yellowing of the pages. It has a green cloth cover with the title and author imprinted in gold lettering. Great addition to any collection. It measures 7 1/2" x 5 1/4" x 1 1/2". It was published by Harper and Brothers in January, 1918. 409 pages.
