We are offering this beautiful Nippon Hair Receiver which measures 2 1/2" tall and has a diameter of 12". This piece is back stamped with the Blue #84 Rising Sun Nippon mark used since 1911 per Joan Van Pattens Collector's Encyclopedia of Nippon 6th edition. This piece has no cracks, fractures or chips. A hair receiver was used by the Victorian's by collecting strands of hair from a hairbrush and collecting the pieces to be used for decorative work later. Some Victorians braided the pieces and used it in their hair as accent pieces. Some used the hair to embellish designs on their clothes or picture frames. This is a great piece and if it's one of your patterns - this is a great find!
