We are offering this Antique Magnetic Jack Straws Game which was manufactured in 1891 by E.I Horsman. This game is the original "pick up sticks" game. The directions on the inside of the cover of the box state that you "Take all the Jack Straws in a bunch in one hand; let them fall on the table so they will scatter some; the, with the Magnets, pick up the Straws one at a time. In doing this you must not move the other Straws (as this puts you out) until the next player does the same. The game continues until all the Straws are picked up. The one counting the most wins the game. When not in use, always keep small pieces of steel on end of magnets, in order to retain their strength." This game still has two magnets and a dozen or so metal "Straws" in the box! I've tried them out and they still work! Great Game! The box is a true testament of artwork and has great coloring. The box is in great shape with no tears or holes!
