Hand Sewn - Lace - Skirt

We recently purchased a wedding trunk from an estate in Prince Edward Island Canada. The entire contents of the trunk are listed on the site. Everything in the trunk is dated between 1864 and 1896. Most of the crotchet string and embroidery threads are from Paris. We have not attempted cleaning of any of the items that were in the trunk. We haven't really unwrapped any of the items that were "wrapped" in brown paper after original purchase from the store. We are offering this Antique/Vintage Hand Sewn Skirt with Hand Embroidered Lace. This piece reminds me of Laura Ingalls from Little House on the Prairie!! The piece is a cotton blend with a stripe in the pattern that runs the length of the skirt. There is a border of gathered material on the bottom of the piece - which is embroidered BY HAND! It's amazing to me the work that went into these dress pieces. This piece ties in the back with a string (one side string is missing). This piece has no rips, tears, pulls - but, does have one moth hole which I've captured in the pictures. This piece measures 25" long, 30" wide at the waist and has a full skirt measuring 35". The piece is an off-white color.
