What a beautiful plate! The design is intoxicating and easy to stare at! We found this plate at an estate sale and it really caught my eye. This is a Carstens Tönnieshof (1945-1984). This is one of many pottery factories owned by members of the Carstens factory, but it's the primary one for art pottery during this era. Primary designers included Trude Carstens, Gerda Heuckenroth, and A. Seide; quality is generally above average. This plate measures 11" in diameter and stands off the table about 2". It's very solid. There are no chips, cracks or fractures on this plate. It really looks nice as a fruit bowl or on display.
