This is a really unusual Nippon Vase that measures 11" tall, 7 3/4" wide, handle to handle, and has a diameter of 16 1/2" wide at it's widest part. The blue/purple background color on this vase really makes the light pinks, yellows and tans stand out. There are 9 turquoise beads on the top of this vase in a base of cream and gold scrolls along with peach beads on the pink flower, tan beads on the tan and second flower. There are gold outlines of each flower and gold accents in the background of the blue/purple. There are no cracks, chips or fractures on this vase. There is the usual wear on the handles. There is one scratch mark on the back side of the vase but it is under the glaze. This vase is backstamped with the green #47 M in wreath per Joan Van Patten's Collectors Encyclopedia of Nippon Porcelain. This mark has been used since 1911. This vase dates between 1891 and 1921.
