Marx Windup Honeymoon Special 6" Train Toy w/ Original Box

The Honeymoon Special was made by Louis Marx Toy Company in 1927. 6" dia. base with 4" long train. This is the smallest and one of the earliest of the many variations of the Marx Honeymoon Express Toys. Toy works by way of key under the base making the train revolve around the base. The whole piece is beautifully lithographed depicting a farmer with a house, dog, chickens plus a train on the sides. On one side it reads "Louis Marx & Co. Honeymoon Special New York, U.S.A." Spring is strong and the train really moves very quickly. Comes with the original box which is also in very good condition with only some minor water staining on one side. I would say the toy is in overall NM condition with only some very small surface scratches and paint rubs on the top of the bridge probably caused by the box(please see photos for condition). It does not appear that this toy got much if any use, the top has no scratches caused by the dragging of the train. This version is much rarer and more desirable than the typical larger Honeymoon Express toys.
