18th Century Primitive Wrought Iron Swivel Toaster Hearth Cooking Implement

C. 1760-1790 Primitive Iron toaster. Because bread was not baked daily, toasting was the obvious solution. Bread was inserted in-between the twisted iron fences and rotated in front of the fire to heat both sides. Beautifully crafted all blacksmith handmade with very nice twisted bar design. All original and overall in very good condition with some minor pitting due to age and has been painted black. Would look great in front of any hearth. These pieces were once so important to daily life but now really do make great and interesting decorator accessories. 12-1/2"W x 22"L
