Early foot warmers were used in horse drawn carriages. Beautiful standard construction of wood and punched, pierced tin, all original. Punched circular pattern on 3 sides and a star? on the front door. This foot stove features an unusual design it is made with a wooden top and bottom but does not have the corners(they are not missing), top and bottom are nailed directly to the tin plus the usual wire handle. A nice Americana accent piece for any country home. Circa 1740-1830. 9" x 8-3/4" x 5-7/8H.
