until Oct 10th...Antique Georgian Painted Scene Pinchbeck with Rock Crystal Pendant or Watch Fob

A TRUE GEORGIAN TREASURE !!! The mount is pinchbeck (a metal that is a combination of copper alloys and zinc)Christopher Pinchbeck developed this metal in the 1700's to resemble gold.

Because pinchbeck has the same alloys as brass, many people confuse it with brass, but it is not brass. It looks just like gold, as the mount of this piece does.

The finish will never wear off..it can be polished with brass polish

This fine example of Georgian jewelry has a hand painted scene on either ivory or velum. The painting is cover will a domed rock crystal.

the back of the piece has a smooth carnelian stone

MINT condition except for minor scratch on rock crystal

1 1/8'' long x 3/4'' wide (without bale)
