Vintage Crown Trifari White Enamel 1968 "Pet Series" Owl Pin

This vintage Trifari white enamel owl pin is from the 1968 "Pet Series." There were two series, the more famous one was featured in a full page advertisement in 1967 and had six pets. This owl is from the 1968 series, and included more animals. It repeats the white enamel with blue dot motif of the 1967 Pet Series, however, the poses are different and the dots are arranged as singles, doubles, triples and a quartet scattered along the body. Our owl is standing at alert, with his red eyes fixed on you! He strikes a "Here's looking at you" pose that is asks for your attention! He sports a patriotic red, white and blue color scheme.

Measurements: Our owl is 2 inches tall and approximately 1.25 inches wide. The standard pin back slants to provide added stability.

Condition: The pin is in very good condition with the minimal spots to the enamel surface. Please use the zoom feature to review all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the description.

Marks: The rectangular cartouche is marked "(Crown)TRIFARI©" This animal series was produced in 1968 to piggyback on the popularity of the 1967 pet series. Figurals from this 1968 series can be more difficult to find than its more famous predecessor. Both Pet series have experienced a recent surge in interest and value.
