This fabulous Delizza and Elster (aka: Juliana; D & E) bracelet and brooch set is featured on page 191 of Julia C. Carroll's "Collecting Costume Jewelry 303." According to her description, this set is a filigree gold tone ball and faux hematite combination. In Mr Frank DeLizza's book, "Memories of a Fashion Jewelry Manufacturer," he states that this type of piece was created by Tony Zangara with the gold tone filigree balls taking the place of stones. At that time, it was a whole new look. Ms. Carroll sets the value of the complete, 4 piece parure at $1,000 to $3,000, which is the higher end for Delizza and Elster.
Measurements: The bracelet is 7.25 inches long and 7/8 inch wide with a fold over clasp and a safety chain. The brooch is 2.25 inches in diameter.
Condition: The brooch is in mint condition - looks unworn. The bracelet is in very condition - when you see the two together in the photos, you can see that the gold in the brooch is brighter than on the bracelet. Please use the zoom feature to review all the photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the description.
Marks: As is the case in all D & E jewelry, it is unsigned. Besides the characteristic 5 link bracelet, this is a verified book piece. This is also a book piece from Ann Pittman's `Juliana Jewelry Reference Identification and Value Guide' on pages 64 and 65.
