This colorful, signed DeMario features a gold tone filigree circle setting with glass bead and faux pearl flowers adorning the surface. There is a pink rhinestone in the center.
Measurements: The pin is 1 5/8 inches in diameter.
Condition: This is an older pin the has the normal signs of its age: some metal darkening, nicks to the faux pearl coating, a touch of verdigris here and there. The center pink rhinestone is a replacement and the final photo shows it "before." It could be kept or popped out and replaced with the stone of your choosing. The safety pin back works, but can be difficult to fit the pin into the catch. Please use the zoom feature to review all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the description. Price reflects condition issues.
Marks: The pin is signed "ROBERT deMARIO N.Y.C" on a cartouche in the center back. This pin is older, most likely dating to the 1940's.
DeMario worked for Miriam Haskell during the early 1940s and many of his designs are very similar to hers. DeMario's jewelry often used glass beads, faux pearls and rhinestones. DeMario opened his own company in 1945 and closed about 1965. Production was limited and quality high end, making his pieces highly collectible.
