Castlecliff by Vrba Huge Native American Faux Turquoise Pendant

This very large pendant is part of the collection designer Larry Vrba produced for Castlecliff and is highly collectible. This one has a definite Native American theme: each large faux turquoise square stone is surrounded by silver tone pairs of Indian chiefs in full headdress facing one another. The outsides have a fan of slender marquise faux turquoise stones to complete the design. The square sections has native American style etchings on them. The Vrba / Castlecliff is only the pendant; a heavy sterling silver chain, marked 925 by the clasp, is included as a bonus. The pendant has a large bail so that it can be worn with a variety of chains.

Measurements: The pendant is 5 inches tall and 3 inches wide (12.7 by 7.6 cm).

Condition: The pendant is in excellent condition in every respect. Please use the zoom feature to review all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the description.

Marks: This is marked "Castlecliff" on the back. This design dates to about 1973, when pieces from the line were advertised in the New York times for a B. Altman & Co advertisement (thanks to Morning Glory Antiques for their information on this). Various pieces reflect different cultures, including Aztec and/or PreColumbian. This particular one, which features American Indians, is relatively rare and the double design even more so. A collector's treasure!
