This is an amazing, vintage Ann and Catherine Prevost collar necklace. It features 7 rows of emerald green glass beads with a cross shaped design of black glass beads in the center. Emerald green is the "it" color for 2013. Collar necklaces look fabulous on those who want to highlight their neck as a focal point. A friend who purchased a Prevost collar necklace from me a couple years ago recently shared that it a personal favorite and that she gets tons of compliments on it.
Measurements: The beaded part of the necklace is 11 inches, with the J-hook adjustable chain it can reach up to 15 inches. The rows of beads are 1.5 inches wide.
Condition: The necklace is in excellent condition. Please use the zoom feature to review all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the description.
Marks: Both end pieces are marked "ACP" and the back side of one is stamped "PREVOST." ACP stands for "Ann and Catherine Prevost." This is one of their earlier pieces.
Designer History: Ann Prevost and her daughter, Catherine, began their jewelry business in New York in the early 1990's creating jewelry based on their passion for art history. They sold through Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Harrods, and Harvey Nichols in London, and in high end boutiques with prices in the $300-500 range. Eventually, they began creating fine jewelry. Ann moved to Italy to create and manufacture, and Catherine moved to London, opening a jewelry shop on Walton Street which she closed several years ago to focus on her family. They both still design fine jewelry for private clients. (This information was kindly provided by Ann Prevost.)
