1849 Godey's Ladies Book ~ Full Year Bound Issues

This is a full year of Godey's Ladies Book bound as one volume. January – December 1849. Godey's was filled with articles on fashion, architectural plans and home decoration, sewing projects as well as stories, music and poetry. All 12 hand colored fashion plates are present plus many more uncolored plates. There are numerous engravings and drawings illustrating the literature. The photos are just a sampling. The covers are gilt embossed leather, page edges are gilt.

This book is in fair condition. Both covers are loose and have the first 10 pages or so attached to each. The remaining pages are tightly bound. There is wear to the covers and especially the spine. Scattered foxing throughout, generally clean, two page tears. Old tape repair to front pages. 915 pages, 6" x 10". This is a wonderful reference for the fashions of the day.
