Antique Double Irish Chain Quilt c.1910 - Light Red, Tan & White

This charming and versatile quilt was made c.1910 in the Double Irish Chain pattern. It's made of light red chambray, tan, and white cotton fabrics. (close ups are closest for color) This quilt is completely hand pieced and hand quilted at about 8-9 stitches per inch. The quilting is done in an allover grid pattern with the squares being smaller in the chain than in the background. Each square of the chain is 1 3/8" square. The back of the quilt is solid light red chambray. The pretty light red color can read more pink or red depending upon the lighting and what you pair it with. The condition is very good. I don't think this has been washed more than a couple times. There are a couple of minor points of wear along the binding edge and couple of very light spots. The size is a generous 80" x 81". You'll find these pretty colors work well with many fabrics and the pattern looks especially good mixed with florals.
