This pretty Victorian stool features a hand carved Rosewood frame. The wood is a rich, warm brown with lovely grain. The carved legs are nicely curved in typical mid Victorian fashion ending in a French foot. There are carved floral bouquets on both long sides of the bench. The carvings are nicely detailed and show a different mix of flowers on each side. This stool is currently covered with needlepoint embroidery which is in fair condition. There are numerous `pulls' to the stitches as well as some small repairs. The surface is `bumpy' as you can see in the photos. You will probably want to replace it. The wood frame is sturdy and in excellent shape. On one short side there is a flaw in the finish and a tiny bit of wood missing near the leg joint. (see photos) Measurements are about 20" x 16" x 17" tall.
