Not easy to find one of these! This sweet little sterling silver bon-bon box was given out as a theater souvenir in 1896. It commemorated the 200th performance of David Belasco's `The Heart of Maryland' at the Herald Square Theatre in New York City. The Heart of Maryland was a romance set during Civil War times. The lid is of the box decorated with crisp and beautiful detail. The interior is lightly gold washed. The bottom is marked, `T Kirkpatrick' and `sterling'. This piece is in excellent condition.
