This superbly crafted, platinum French Art Deco ring features a wonderful array of diamonds and sapphires in a unique, lavish design. It showcases two intensely sparkling .36 ct Old European cut diamonds, two .04 ct Old European cut diamonds and 28 custom cut brilliant blue sapphires. The large diamonds are embraced by a bezel on one side and are bead set on the other. The larger diamonds are not matched in color, one having a more yellow tint. The smaller diamonds are bead set. One of each size stone resides in a beaded pear shaped bezel creating the illusion of a pear shaped diamond. The sapphires are channel set, embracing the diamonds. A few of the sapphires are slightly abraded but it is not noticeable without proper magnification and it in no way detracts from the opulent beauty of the piece. The face of the ring measures 19.5 mm x 8.2 mm. The gallery is composed of delicate beaded spindles accented by an etched leaf in the center. The entire shank is embellished with a magnificent geometric pattern with diamonds cuts creating a lovely glittering effect. The upper shank measures 3.45 mm wide and gently tapes to 1.69 mm at the base. It is just shy of a size 6 and weighs 2.8 dwt. This piece is unmarked but tests positive for platinum. This absolutely striking is a magnificent example of the Art Deco movement!
