For your consideration, is a pretty,brown eyed, antique Simon Halbig, #570 doll. She is on a stamped Heinrich Handwerck body and measures 21" tall. This pretty girl, is wearing antique doll shoes, pantalons, dress and bonnet. She also has vintage socks. This doll has been restrung and wears an old replacement wig with a little barrette. This doll has no chips or repairs to her head. There is a 1/4" area of a stain on the left side, below her ear, this is not a crack, appears to be a firing mark. She is missing some wax on her upper left eyelid. Her body has no repaint, she has some paint loss here and there, The tip of her thumb is missing from her right hand. Please view photos carefully, I have extra views if you require them, just let me know. Her pate is replaced. The dress and hat are stunning! Lovely lace and design in a pretty periwinkle. Simon & Halbig was founded in 1839, they began making dolls from 1869 to 1920 in their two porcelain factories in Gräfenhain and Hidburghausen, near Thuringia, Germany. In 1920 S & H was bought by Kämmer & Reinhardt, who continued to produce dolls until 1932. Sometime after the factory became known as Keramisches Werk Gräfenhain. Simon & Halbig is known for the fine bisque doll heads and innovation in the doll industry, they also supplied doll heads to many other well known doll manufacturers.
