Kammer & Reinhardt Child Doll 31" Tall Gorgeous

Currently on Layaway ~ Very large Kammer & Reinhardt child, 31" tall, with the most stunning and perfect head and original very chunky and heavy loose-ball jointed body with the original rose finish. Scroll down for 2012 Book Value $1200 - $1500 for 28" - 30" size. Head is marked "K (star &) R // SIMON & HALBIG // 80". This head is one of the prettiest you will ever find, surely a luxury model with flawless bisque with lovely soft and natural coloring. Her nicely rouged cheeks are very plump and curve into a slight double chin. Her eyes have a very pronounced almond shape with huge blue spiral threaded eyes with outlined irises. The eye cuts have a molded upper lid and have lavishly painted upper and lower lashes. The sleep eyes are in the original set and have the original lid wax and hair lashes. The eyebrows are molded and painted with many tiny individual strokes at the inner and outer corners as well as across the top, giving a natural and realistic look. Her lips are full and slightly parted with two well-defined peaks on the upper, her four porcelain teeth are set in, and the lower lip is shaded at the top edge and at the bottom. Ears are pierced.

The original K*R body is unmarked (K&R did not mark their bodies, but they are easily recognizable from their characteristics) with loose-ball-joints. The body is strong, high quality, composition and very heavy and sturdy. The K&R bodies have a finish with a pleasing rosy tint from several layers of paint. The torso has slightly molded breasts, rib cage, navel and rounded stomach. In back, it has molded shoulder blades and a protruding buttocks with a deep crease, but flat across the bottom. Arms are turned wood, both upper and lower, with a separate elbow joint. Hands and individual fingers are nicely detailed, showing dimples and knuckles. Fingernails are outlined in red and there is a red accent line at the base of each finger. See more on page 132 of "Simon & Halbig Dolls, The Artful Aspect" by Jan Foulke. The body is in very good condition with typical wear at the joints, a flake off the palm of the right hand, and one replaced knee ball.

She wears an antique dress of light navy blue with small white dots, with a small collar and a dropped waist. The dress has hand feather stitching embroidery embellishments and buttons down the back. Several buttons are missing. She wears pink socks and newer leather moccasins. Her wig is a high quality mohair replacement that suits her beautifully.

Condition: Excellent; no chips, cracks, repairs, or rubs to the stunning head. Body with lighter than typical wear, mostly at the joints.
