Kestner #143 Cabinet Size 7" Straight Wrists Great Costume
Marks: "g made in Germany 4/0 143". Circa 1910.
Bisque socket head, blue spiral-threaded sleep eyes in original setting, irises have deep blue outlining, dramatically painted upper and lower lashes, feathered brows, open mouth with four "molded"upper teeth, beautifully accented lips, original auburn mohair wig over original plaster pate.
Her beautiful composition ball jointed body has the desirable straight wrists and has it's original finish. There is a little very tiny flake on the palm side index finger of her right hand. Otherwise, condition is absolutely excellent.
She wears a wonderful costume with a lace dress over a one-piece full slip with attached pantaloons. She is missing her tiny socks, but she has her tiny kid shoes with silver color accents. I will be happy to include some ties if requested upon order.
Condition: Excellent; no chips, cracks or repairs to the bisque head. There is a tiny paint skip, the size of the tip of a common pin within the painted bottom eyelashes of her right eye. This is not a chip or a flake, but a tiny dot of white where the paint was missed.
12th Edition Doll Values page 186 lists at $900 - $1000 in the 8-10" size. This 7" size is even more difficult to find, so is thought to be of slightly higher value.
Finest quality bisque and decoration, excellent body with original finish, and beautifully dressed. An especially pretty doll of this mold and ready to display.
