Antique Silk Brocade Doll Costume with Matching Bonnet

Excellent three piece doll costume, circa 1870s made of lovely green silk brocade and fully lined.

The bodice has red glass faceted beads stitched around the neckline and double welting trim at the bottom edge. The long sleeves are intricately pleated and the back opening would be stitch-tacked closed once on the doll. The attached bustle-like effect is lightly padded between the layers of fabric.

The skirt has a pleated waistline insert, and has piped accents along the front, the back of the skirt forming a long lined train.

The bonnet has the matching pleated insert along the front and pleated edging with lace accent around the face.

All pieces are lined with French glazed cotton and muslin with interfacing to hold the structure. It is very well made. The train of the skirt has some very light fading that is barely noticeable until you fold it up next to the bodice which has no fading.

This costume fits the body listed separately under item number DP-P32 and would fit dolls between 20" and 24" depending on measurements.

Measurements: Two pieces together about 18" long from center front neckline to hem in front. Bodice: 6-1/2" across shoulders; bust 14-1/2"; waist 12". Skirt waist 11-1/2", length 14" in front and 20-1/2" in back. Bonnet fits 12-1/2" head circumference perfectly.
