Early Silk Doll Jacket Black and Bronze Silk Lined c1850s

Beautiful circa 1850s silk doll jacket for a large doll made entirely by hand. It would look wonderful on a big, early, china head doll.

The jacket has a bound neckline, dropped shoulders, tiered sleeves, and welting at the armholes and above the waist pleat. It is completely lined in tan polished cotton. It closes with the completely hidden original heavy brass hooks and eyes.

Condition is very good overall with a mend on the left front side and some wear to the silk in a few places. I've shown magnified close-ups.

Measurements: Length at center front9-1/4"; at center back 10-1/4". Across the dropped shoulders between welted armholes 9". Sleeves 4-3/4" which would not be full length. Neck opening is 8-5/8".

Truly a gorgeous piece to complete the costuming of your large, early china, wax, papier mache or other early doll.
