Deep Blue Silk Fashion Gown Two Pieces for Larger Doll

Gorgeous deep blue antique silk fashion gown with black embroidery details and added fringe. The color is a slightly deeper blue than shown in most of the photos; the lighting had a brightening effect on the photos noticed only after they were processed. The photo showing the wide standing collar up close, is the best representation of color.

I will begin by stating that I am not sure of the age of this costume, so will err to the conservative and state that I believe it has been re-made at some point in time, or at the very least, new French blue polished cotton lining and black fringe was added. I have inspected the black fringe and it is clear that it was added as an embellishment and not to cover any kind of damage.

The gown is two pieces with a gorgeous fitted bodice with standing lace-trimmed collar and curved sleeves with decorative band and lace trim. The waist is trimmed with a pleated flounce of the embroidered silk. The skirt has an attached waistband and folds at the hem of the attached over-skirt. Both the solid blue silk underskirt and the embroidered overskirt have the added black fringe.

The costume is beautifully made. I do believe the lining is newer. It is a beautiful match in color to the silk, and the edges have been pinked, which would not have been done 150 years ago.

The styling is circa 1860s - 1870s and the costume is gorgeous with very little deterioration to the silk. I have left the photos very large so you can zoom in to see. There is no shattering or splitting and all I see are tiny little pin hole sized areas here and there, mostly on the skirt.

Measurements: Bodice 7-1/4" from neck edge (not including standing lace) to bottom of flounce; 8" width of standing collar band and 17-3/4" all the way around. 17" around measured under the arms; 13-3/4" waist; sleeve 7-3/4". Skirt 17-1/2" from top of waistband to bottom of fringe; 11-3/4" waist. All measurements are taken edge to edge, without note of current hook & eye locations. Please allow for closure coverage in your measurements.

Excellent costume in a larger size that would fit a lady doll between 23" to 27" tall, depending on the doll's measurements. Please check measurements carefully and email if you need clarification or additional measurements.
