Handmade Doll Dress c1930s Earlier Fabric

Dress is entirely hand made from fabric that appears to be circa 1860s. I'm estimating it was made in the 1930s based on the style and sizing. I'm guessing it was to fit a mama or baby doll with cloth body due to the narrow sleeves, but it could well fit earlier dolls as well.

The fabric is a wonderful, geometric cotton print with circles and cross-hatching. The dress is hand embroidered with red embroidery floss in a double running stitch. The two little buttons are mother of pearl and have been embroidered in a most ingenious way to make them red and white (see close-up photos).

The dress is in very nice clean condition. Both sleeves are torn at the armhole seams, an easy fix to reinforce. No fading or stains.

Measurements: 7-3/4" long at center front; 9" long at center back. 6" across shoulders to sleeve seams. 13" chest measured under the arms.
