Offered for sale in my shop is a wonderful vintage children's book. First Edition 1938, Titled: YOUNG SETTLER, By Phil Stong , published in New York by Dodd, Mead, Illustrated by Kurt Wiese.

This book contains 80 pages with beautiful colored and black and white illustrations. Commensurate with it age this book does show sign of wear with page yellowing and fraying. Overall this book's appearance is very good. In summary the story is as follows: Hi is the name of a young settler whose family settled on land in Iowa and made friends with the Indian tribe that lived near them. When whites try to take the Indian land, Hi wins the land for the Indians in a horse race. If you are a collector of children, this book will be a wonderful addition to your collection.
