Custom Mahogany Ball and Claw Lowboy

This magnificent piece is a custom-made, solid mahogany Philadelphia ball and claw lowboy that dates from the 1930s. Hand-cut dovetail and some scribe marks here and there tell that this is not a machine piece that was made by the thousands, but one that meticulously crafted in a smaller furniture place, even though there are no markings to tell who made it. It has hand-cut dovetail drawers with raised panel edges, Chippendale style hardware, you can tell that the center drawer was hand-carved where the fan shell is, and it sits upon a really nice front cutout stylish skirted base with delicate ball and claw cabriole legs on all four corners. There is a solid mahogany top and a veneered back with a bit of rippling, which is only in back so it doesn’t matter. It is 35 inches wide, 20 inches deep, and 32.5 inches high. It has a lock but no key, and is of very high quality. It will cost only $285 to have this unique piece shipped to you, within our normal delivery area.
