Probably dating from around the 1910's, this oversized piece is extremely high quality, and remains in great condition. This piece features a full-length bevel glass mirror in the center door, three hand-cut dovetail drawers on the bottom of the piece, and triple door access. This piece also has a beautiful cross-grain mahogany veneer with burl panel highlights. The bronze finished brass ormolu embellishment is completely intact, and the crest is crown molded with a brass cut out center. The two outside serpentine doors retain their original brass Victorian style hardware and mirror the two outside doors, which are also in the serpentine fashion. The extra large wardrobe measures 74" wide, 106" tall, and 24" deep on the outside. The left & center doors open to expose a compartment that is 18" at deepest, 52" wide, 57" from the floor of the compartment to the shelf; from the shelf to the top is about 16 inches. This spacious compartment also has a hanging rod and what appears to be an adjustable shelf. Open the right door to reveal three adjustable shelves; the compartment measures 18" wide, 18" at the deepest point, and 70" high. The key & locks do work, but are not guaranteed to run effortlessly because old locks can be temperamental after shipment. The doors will open and close whether or not the locking mechanism is working smoothly. This is a magnificent piece that will enhance your home.
