A lovely 19th century English silver plate platter dome, or food cover, hallmarked for Thomas Bradbury & Sons, Sheffield. This hallmark was used from 1853-1896. This handsome, mellon-ribbed dome features attractive, bright-cut engraved bands, beaded bands and a detachable figural handle with matching beaded detail.
The dome measures 13 3/4" in length by 10 3/4" wide by 6" high to top of dome, 9" high overall. It is in very, very good undamaged condition. There are no deep gouges, dents or repairs and there is no silver plate loss. The interior is very clean. The engraving is very crisp. The piece is hallmarked as per photo. A pleasing, quality piece from one of the premiere 19th century Sheffield firms.
