Charming 19th Century Scottish Pottery Elephant

A charming, naively modeled, Scottish pottery elephant dating to the mid 19th century. The piece has a rich, lustrous deep brown glaze with darker brown pooling. The elephant is mounted on a treacle-glazed pottery base.

This endearing little figure stands 2 3/8" high, the base measures 3 1/2" long by 1 1/2" deep. It is in very good undamaged condition. There are no chips, cracks or restorations. Quite delightful!
