Fine 19th Century English Boxwood Covered Spice Box

A nicely turned, rich honey-colored, 19th century English boxwood covered box with a wonderful warm patina. Just a simple, yet pleasing design with a slightly domed top...a very tactile piece.

The box stands 3 1/4" high, the base measures 3" in diameter. The piece is in very, very good condition. The box has an unusual lid locking mechanism that we have photographed and it still would be air tight!

A very attractive, beautifully made treen piece dating to the last half of the 19th century.
