Vintage Black Americana Mammy Teapot Japan Hand Painted Aunt Jemima

Here is a very rare 1930s-1940s Black Americana Mammy teapot. This teapot has so much charm and character and measures approx. 4" inches tall and 6" inches wide from spout to handle. Bottom is marked `PICO Hand Painted Made in Japan'. Teapot is in very good condition for its age but does have some mild paint wear some pin holes in some of the glaze on Mammy's cheeks and also, the inner rim of the teapot has some losses (see photos) but these cannot be seen when the lid is on. Lid has a couple dark spots that are underglaze This is truly a very rare item and to have it intact and in this great of condition!! You will be very happy.

We have many more rare Black Americana items in our Rubylane store.
