"A New Hampshire Farm" oil on canvas by listed New York/Pennsylvania artist James Ross c. 1935

Offered is a beautiful impressionist oil painting of a New Hampshire farm scene by well listed artist James Ross. The broken colors used by Ross in this painting really give it a lot of life. It is a treasure to enjoy. Painting measures 16" x 20" and is nicely framed. Frame measures 19 3/8" x 23 3/8". This painting is in very good condition and has a clean 1" tear in the upper right hand corner with little or no paint loss. On the verso is remnants of a 1935 Yonkers Art Association exhibition tag and a 1982 James Ross retrospective exhibition tag. Born in Williamsburg, Virginia, James Ross was an architect in the firm of Ross and McNeal in New York City and was also an impressionist painter in oil and watercolor. He exhibited with the Yonkers Art Association and the Society of Independent Artists.
