Offered is a rare etching c. 1920 by George Stimmel (American, 1880-1964) titled "Tugs, Fulton Market" or "Three Tugs". Plate measures 7" x 9 3/4", is numbered in the lower left margin and pencil signed in the lower right margin. Print is also signed in the plate's lower left corner. This print was in an edition of 40. Print is in very good condition. In the left margin are what appears to be a few of Stimmel's fingerprints. Stimmel created urban landscapes of New York City and the surrounding areas from 1915 to 1930. His etchings were the subject of a feature article in Print Quarterly, 1928. A copy of his original reference photograph is included with this offering.
