Founded in 1953 in Valencia, Spain, the Lladró Company has been producing high quality porcelain figurines for more than a half century. This 1997 piece, named “Caribbean Rhythm,” was sculpted by Salvador Debón and was subsequently retired soon after, making it a rarity amongst these highly collectable figures. It was sold exclusively in the Caribbean by Little Switzerland and has become an extraordinarily valued piece today.
The little boy is beautifully glazed in light pinks, grays, and pale blues and is featured with a large drum, Panama hat, and small kitten at his side.
The piece measures 8 inches tall and is in near perfect collector’s condition.
